peterhunter86 8,627
I got home from work late and therefore making the misus late for work so I came in to a moan and the little lad, 8months old, screaming and mardy and tired the dogs wanted feeding the aga had gone out. Sorted the fire and the dogs took little lad upstairs to bath him and get him to bed and realised he had filled his nappy...and his vest...and his grow..sh*t everywhere! So got bath run and gettin stuff sorted, no baby wash left! So he had a bath in baby shampoo. Got him sorted and to bed then went downstairs and my little girl, 4, had knocked her drink on the floor and tried to clean it up with her pj top. Sorted that took her upstairs to get her to bed. She went to the loo and I cleaned her teeth, read her book and got her to bed. Went back in bathroom to tidy up the carnage from the pair and realised the toilet was full. My little girl, being a female, needs half a roll of paper to wipe her bits and has blocked the loo. Now Im still up doing work I should have got finished today if I hadnt got stuck in the f**king meeting room!!!! I am pretty sure God is testing me! Sounds like a typical day with a young family. Enjoy it because believe me it does not last long. TC Sounds like one of my days.today was the first day in donkeys i got to finish my dinner before it went cold and thats only because i waited till they went to bed before i had it. I have said to my misus a few times I am guna write a book and call it 'another cold tea' whether that means food or drink it doesnt matter....its always cold by time I get to it!!!I struggle wi little lad tbh, I cant hack the screaming teething dribbly mess he is.I know it will come good I just havent bonded at the min. Then my little girl (4) comes over and whacks me and shouts "dead leg!" and runs off and that gets me smiling again! Other day i said summat to her and she said "talking like that int good for your nose daddy". Proper creased me up bless her. We aint scrats by the way before that starts! Were potty training the three year old at the moment the first two days the only time he would get off the pot was to take a piss on the floor done my fooking head in. stick with it mate.my lads just got past that.but he would do a piss in the potty try empty it himself .spill it over the floor then slip over in it and land in the piss puddle Hes flying pal hes at it a week and he has it sussed hes going in the big toilet now hasnt went on the floor in 4 or 5 days. Accip74 7,112
f***ing shit that living today requires two parents to be out and working to raise a family, no wonder the family unit is under strain.. A woman having a job when you have small children is no longer a choice, it's expected.. So called women's rights was the biggest scam of the century. My missus has just quit her well paying teaching job, she's realised she's going to miss out on the last few years of having kids. We're going to be materially much worse off but I think we'll be far happier. That's what we did & living on one income certainly isn't easy, but the rewards can be far greater than anything materialistic.

Tiercel 6,986
The eldest boy is 35 now I still remember the first day I took him ferreting when he was three like it was yesterday, teaching him how to climb gates. Getting him to shut up was the hardest part, those memories will live with me for the rest of my days. They do not seem very special at the time, but as they grow they become part of them. I see gaz taking his daughter out, I honestly feel more chuffed than him because I know what's coming, he does not yet. The same with the youngest daughter, she has given me memories, like the time she tried to get in the hole with the terrier to get a better look while the terrier is working a fox. The same girl rides to hounds now. Her first ever riding to hounds with the Banwen Miners Hunt at Stradey castle just before the ban she was just 12 at the time but was not fazed at all. I still get a lump in my throat just remembering that day. TC Edited November 29, 2016 by Tiercel

DIDO.1 22,855
I know a few couples who would kill to hear a kiddies cry, or go through toilet training...they are going through course after course of ivf. Just remember how lucky you are, even when it's tough. I'm lucky my mrs has given up work to help me with paperwork and to see to the kids...Iv never felt responsibility like it though...I always had a good few weeks then just buggered off hunting somewhere, now I'm thinking about next month's bills!!! But all in all as long as your all healthy then just try to keep smiling. I'm out with hounds tomorrow :-)
