scottish lurcher 185
I posted a topic about friend called bert , who was getting hassle from a young teacher who was new to village regarding hunting , it now turns out she was seen by keeper in nearby woods where she has been walking her dog tampering with some of his traps and has even damaged a few and is going to be reported for this . So I like to be a fly on her wall when she's gets a knock !!! These people don't realise that trapping of vermin like grey squirels etc is done for conservation not for the sake of it and needs to educated her self with the true facts of hunting and the law !!! DIDO.1 22,868
It's still an uphill struggle and takes co operation to get a real result. Tell Bert to meet with the shoot manager and agree a plan of action....trail cameras are cheap now, she needs to be caught, evidence needs to be gathered and presented to the police in the correct way....along with records of her harassing your friend. The police won't do anything other than 'have a word' . You need to gather info yourself and advise the police of what you expect to happen. If you get her convicted she will loose her job....but it will take a serious effort....not dog shit traps lol Edited November 28, 2016 by DIDO.1

Tiercel 6,986
If she's damaged traps on purpose surely thats criminal damage It's the proving of it is the hard part. Metaphorically trying to brow beat her in to submission will get no where. It is better to educate and show that we are just not callous killers but are actually trying to keep a balance for all species. They may not like it, but most I have come into contact with accept that it has to be done because of man's encroachment on the environment. I normally use an example of a local retail park that was built on marshland. Prior to the park being built it was home to waterfowl, waders, buntings, dragon and damsel flies and a host of other flora and fauna. Now it is a concrete waste land that only the gulls and crows get to glean a living on. Prior to the park being built I and others had shot over the marshes for twenty odd years yet did it no harm at all. TC Edited November 28, 2016 by Tiercel
