DIDO.1 22,838
My step son is now 10 and is obviously becoming aware of the birds and bees....when should I consider having 'the talk' and how much do i explain?
DIDO.1 22,838
I agree Joe. At ten I was only interested in fieldsports...I was only interested in fieldsports at 25 though! What worries me is he has access to internet and he is obviously becoming more aware with the comments he makes. Even the soaps show things that make me cringe when the kids are watching! I try to get him in the workshop rather than watching shite on TV but I still think I need to address some of the comments he makes
WILF 46,917
Be honest with kids......it's perfectly simple to be honest and age appropriate. I have two girls and two boys.......and beleive me, if you think having "the talk" with a young lad is difficult you want to try explaining the raw realities if how boys and men are to teenage girls ! I always think, better it comes from you

Hydropotesinermis 724
Probably don't mention anal. He should at least 12 before he finds out about that.

Malt 379
He'll probably know a lot more than he's letting on, if he's making comments and stuff. They know when they know, I don't think there is a right time for a parent to lay it all out for them in black and white, my approach so far is to be honest and wait for them to come to me and ask. I think back to when I was that age and I learned from other kids. Once they hit secondary school age it filters down from the older kids.
