Blackbriar 8,569
Anyone from south of Watford is a cockney apparently. But there are two distinct sub-species of Cock-er-ney.....the Dick van Dyke and the Danny Dyer ! Both unconvincing and trying too hard IMO. Bless you, guv'nah ! You're a proper gent, and no mistake !

JDHUNTING 1,817
I'm from Wigan so have a strong accent, and I can pick a wiganers out anywere. I don't know why Wigan has such a strong accent and why you can drive out of Wigan and hear completely different ones not a 5 minute drive away. I can often tell which pat of Wigan someone's from aswell, was a bit of a surprise when I got older and travelled about a bit and people couldn't tell a word I was saying as I never realised I had an accent! Torquemada 288
Thats the problem with a Scouse accent. It's a bit like herpes, you can never quite get rid of it.
Greyman 28,198
I live near to avonmouth now or little Poland as its now known and you can spot a pole a mile off, big lads ,crew cuts and as Kanny said a right flat head at the back, what's that all about, do there mothers give birth standing up and just let em hit the floor? Oh and I have the broadest West Country accent that you only get from growing up in a right rough council estate, I can usually even identify people around Bristol by there local accent, I speak like wurzel gumage and am proud as punch of my roots

I have a strong Nottinghamshire accent me Duk! Funny coz I always thought I spoke the Queens English until people started pointing it out. I still say a few of those....I've never called anyone "duck", but it's a phrase 'me mam' used with regularity. My grandad would pronounce both "g"'s in words like "singing". But he was a bit of a daft bat ! And I've never been able to explain this discrepancy - when I was a lad, we used to get a "croggie" or a "crog" on a mates bike, but my sister, who's only 3 years younger, calls it a "dink"...which is, to me at least, a minor car accident...or a Chinaman !
