Extra Early

Recommended Posts

Well home at 4.30 now normally its lead on the dog and straight back out as he usually busting because he won't go in the yard.

But today I had a rabbit soaking in the fridge so needed to get that in the oven ticking over so i wasn't eating too late. The dog was laying there with his legs crossed hanging on and in the end gave in and went in the yard. So I thought hang on lets have a cuppa till bout 5 be getting dark and take the lamp :)

Beats boring old walks down the road. So bout 5.10 we were entering the first field. Lamp on and a rabbit the far side not hanging about which was to be expected that early. So as we approached the gate way into the second field we went all stealth mode. Tip toeing through the mud. I new there might be one right by the gate so I flicked on the lamp there was one making a run for it. The dog leapt the corner and steamed after it. Got a turn on the hedge and the rabbit committed suicide by heading back into the field so game over. The dog killed it dead but he has the knack and only grabs the shoulders so that's fine

Turned out really nice the kids like it too. Diced rabbit, leek, onion and a handful of cooking apple thrown in.

cheers folks best thing I did was get back into the lurcher side of things. Certainly fills up your time. I only do an hour here and there and enjoy it. The days of big nights and days are gone I just dont have the ground for it in this day an age any more :whistling:

Nipped out for an hour tonight and fed the ferrets and filled the fridge
