They were acting like k8ds, dancing abouf an spitting, if they had any intention of attacking the guy they would have done it, not dance about like karate kid haha What would i have done, absolutley fook all, im not dull enough to get myself in them situations mate, im an adult now haha true the worst people to deal with are sober people , because if there up for a knock they deff will do better job they will know exactly where there going to hit you and when i no doorman , but did help the gaffer once out at a local pub on new year night, from 9 -2am got £70 quid and free drinks after the pub was closed, it went ok no trouble , most were couples they were ok kept the lads who were pissed out, . when you sober and your dealing with piss heads , you could really damage them, there that slow and open , they think there tough /hard but that the piss in them , meet them next day to fight they shit there selves . yep sober person very dangerous . gnasher16 30,296
f**k all that getting poked, prodded and spat at for odd quid a night most of these big fairies you see standing on doors would do it for nothing as well !......there was a time when an old time club bouncer would be given a wide berth now the kids look at these trendy door supervisors as an easy target for a quick rep.
Mister Gain 1,764
Don't know what bouncers are like today, but there were some right spiteful ba5tards about in the 70's, not averse to dishing out a free right hander for NO reason, but I've got to say I would have liked to seen that doorman cave that w@nkers head in, spitting ffs, worst thing ever.
socks 32,253
Do you lads remember a bouncer bodyguard called peter gouch ... he looked after madonna I think at one stage ... he made a right f***ing mess of a lad outside my local nightclub when we were youngsters ... I think he got an axe in the head in the end .....
Dinosaurs 2,107
Knobheads got what they deserved if they had got into the pub they would probably started on someone & most likely some one smaller than them. Doorman did well imo
neil cooney 10,416
Used to drink in a club every weekend in Drogheda and got on well with the bouncers. One Christmas a mate and I went but the bouncer told him his shirt wasn't appropriate dress. The bouncer handed my mate a bright red Christmas jumper with snowmen and snowflakes on it. Then told him they'd let him in if he wore it. The bouncers followed him around all night making sure he didn't take it off. Every time my mate tried to chat up a girl she'd piss herself laughing and walk off, LOL.
WILF 47,450
There used to be a club called Raquels back in the day in Basildon, I had a set too with a bouncer there because they pulled some 7 stone wet through kid backwards down the stairs and 4 of them absolutely savaged him......I thought they were gonna kill the kid. I didn't know the kid, I just thought it was a terrible Liberty.......truth be told he was probably a stranger serving up who didn't buy his stock off the blokes the doormen worked for. But that's just a guess, can't think of any other reason to set about such a small kid like that. I've had a few run in with bouncers when I was a young man but then again I have met a lot of decent one of your own types too. Zen at Dartford they were handy enough, they had little back corridors there and would just drag a lad out the back and that was the end of him......for some reason they really disliked me there although I never did anything to cause this........maybe it was just my winning manner........or the fact my pal Reggie flattened about 6 of them one night ! Lol

Might not be your cup of tea mate but watch the film/documentary by Len McClean's son. The doors in them days were staffed by very dangerous men

Lol I can relate to this Wilf, got a free right hander off a bouncer in the Welcome Inn in Well Hall road when we were shuffling out, cnut just stood there grinning. Told him I would see him again, and he just grinned. Got the shock of his life 2 weeks later when my mate put him on the floor, we went there mob handed and the other two bouncers didn't even offer a challenge. I told the guvnor what it was about and he told me he did it regularly and I never saw the cnut there again. A lot of them are just fcuking bullies. My younger brother stood the doors around Eltham for a number of years, and told me some stories, but he was a nutter, not capable of rational thought and relentless once he kicked off RIP Les. Not good doorman material IMHO.

lanesra 3,994
Couldn't think of a worse scenario than dealing with people with drink on board , like any job there's good & bad , I've met some real nice blokes in London & Manchester who do doors , but saying that I treated them with respect like you should anyone , though I've no doubt if I'd of acted the clever Fukcer they'd of been completely different , I've never understood why lads act tough towards doormen especially full of drink , get sober & go to the boxing club if there so desperate to fight , saying that most Dont when sober .
