paulmccatapult 21
Hi guys just wondering could anyone help me out with a few things please. I'm buying my first rifle .22 and I've decided to go with a cz brno because I have yet to hear a bad thing said about the rifles. I just want to know now the difference between a 445 and 452 and also how to identify between the two. Also is there anything to look for in particular when buying one second hand. Thanks Paul Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk Quote Link to post
Jax13 251
A secondhand bolt action 22 will have very little to look for really. Things to check. Trigger pull. Cock the rifle and dry fire it a couple of times. Is the trigger sloppy, does it have a clean consistent break? Is it too heavy? Too light? Does it slam or bump fire (essential test on a 2nd hand Cz in case someone made an arse of fitting a trigger kit) Barrel. Is the crown clean, (if possible buy a cheap jewellers loup ad have a close look) are the threads clean or are they a little chewed? Is the blueing in decent condition? Drop the bolt out and look down the barrel towards a light from either end. Is the rifling consistent, any sign of pitting, rust or bulging? Is it straight? Stock. Is it cracked anywhere? Bad dents, finish? Is the barrel channel free floating? Are stock studs secure or are they easy to turn (not a huge issue but you don't want to chuck it on your back and have it pull a qd stud out!) Mags. Does the plate travel easily up and down or does it catch anywhere? Does it fit properly, locate easily and drop away cleanly? 1 Quote Link to post

3175darren 1,100
You will find it hard to pull fault with a brno or cz, brilliant little rifles, keep away from micro grooved barrels, if it looks battered it is, check the rifleing, look down the barrel, if it's clean and the rifleing is crisp, you are there, be wary if there's a silencer and scope, the silencer try to avoid the Parker hale, not beacause there's any fault as such with them, but the newer silencers are better, ( the old Parker hales need more maintenance ) the scopes well I would always put a new scope on, Bruno's or cz are 2 a penny they are the workhorse of the rf market and rightly so, Quote Link to post
Jax13 251
To add to earlier, You'll see little practical different between Cz models. The thing to do is check they fit you. The lux version has IMHO a horrible stock. It's very thin and whippy up front, the hogs back doesn't really put you on to a decent height for a scope and they can feel quite short. An American, style or silhouette model would be my preference. You can then go to town with a huge selection of aftermarket stocks etc. if you wanted to. Quote Link to post
Metalman2 45
You have the option of changing the barrels on the 455, torx bolts x2 and I found no "creep" as opposed to my 452. Fitted the 455 with a Boyds stock Quote Link to post
