PeskyWabbits 464
Been thinking of getting one for some time. Anyone got one? Is it a favourite or a faff? I would probably go for a genuine one, but how do the knock-offs compare? We are past the camping season, but I just fancy one. Thanks a lot Pesky

forest of dean redneck 11,768
I got a large one ,not used it for awhile ,it's easy enough to use ,remember to take the bung out before using it. One thing is I didn't like tea made from the water as it had a Smokey taste.I preferred coffee.

tomburras 2,730
I use one too for boiling water for pot noodles mainly they are superb. In mine I use bio ethnol with some poored into an old pellet tin as a mini burner - It burns clean and can be used in a bivy then too.
Waz 4,274
I got one free with an order of pest control bits, didnt use it for years, but when I did was surprised how handy it is, just need something 'bone' dry to get it going after that anything dryish is good. trapperman 474
I've got the base camp I think it's called 1.5lt it's very good for boiling water but I don't think I would ever get the cooking kit that goes with it as the fire pit is very small If you have small dry twigs all ready to go it can almost boil as quick as an electric kettle
3175darren 1,101
They do boil quick, it's like anything else if you are going to use it then it's worth the investment, I find it a lot more convenient than normal, stoves, no gas or petrol to carry I stick it in the back of the pickup, and I lives there for a few weeks in spring when I am cutting logs,
