low plains drifter 10,505
That's all it was , a business, taking money and at that extra cost than some one who bred a lurched for the right reasons , there own pup. He would have them continually for sale always , pups , etc. Joe soap looks in the paper and one available That's it mate, no shortage of five minute wonders chomping at the bit to spunk all their giros and crisis loans on a must have lurcher pup 3 Quote Link to post

bird 9,911
Why the man started breeding lurchers for working homes when he clearly has no interest in them always baffled me he could of made more money out of breeding for the pet market, money and working dogs don't mix never has and never will. thats fair point , alot designer type dogs which are bred just for looks (cockerpoos, labpoos, etc ) are fetching 800-1000£ quid a pup, and alot of hancock pups would appeal to people wanting a nice type looking dog, as they are nice b/w, merle colliex pups , yeh he make more money than £ 300 quid a pup .lol And it dont shock me how he treats his stock, ive been to just as bad places over the years , from working homes where there not much better ,looked after and thats only few dogs there , its not only hancock that treat dogs like he does plenty , of other people do. i suppose we all have right to go and buy a pup from where we like be it a worker or none worker , but one thing i can never understand ,is to buy a pup from a place where the adult dogs never go out, there on concrete 24/7 there like zoo animals , i rather have a pup that from parents that get out , feel bit of grass under the feet .!! 2 Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
The only thing that surprises me is that after all these years, the man still sells enough pups to warrant keeping 100 greyhounds...!! Quote Link to post
cantona 310
Surely he's been visited by animal welfare or rspca after being reported, they would Come and smash you're door down with the police and take you're well looked after well fed, exercised dogs that have it all , comfort and work if you were reported for working them but leave puppy farms alone like at Hancock's 3 Quote Link to post
jiggy 3,209
Why would anybody want a black pup they take poor photographs for Facebook. Quote Link to post
leeroy 29
I knew a old feller that did a few bits for him years ago , he told me anything that doesn't sell goes in the incinerator out back, No stopping on the way. I went there 10 yrs ago to look and it was a sh1t hole there were 15 pups in one pen he said they were all from the same litter but there was 3" in size with half of them. I went in with them and they were squealing and running about doing their best to get away from me. There was crap absolutly everywhere Puppies should not be like this as this can only be detrimental to their long term health. Its only mugs like us that have kept him doing this by buying them and will keep him doing it until he's had enough. 1 Quote Link to post
Caravan Monster 323
the litter take nothing from the greyhound for hunting ability they are just there for a carcass to carry young... I expressed that the greyhound was bred hunting dog he said they dumb free to good home breeding carcass that's all doesn't say much for their second cross (3/4 greyhound) and third cross (7/8 greyhound) lurchers. He must be really old by now. It must be depressing to keep dogs in those kennels, never to run again, treating them purely as breeding stock to turn a profit from. Quote Link to post
pukerk 161
The easiest way to get a collie x is to go to Hancock... me, I searched for two years and then one popped up more or less on my door step,.. other people wanting one have searched hell of a lot longer.... collie greyhound or collie lurcher?? does it really matter if there's something else in there... working parents with good tempements and well socialised pups is the way forward for me.... 4 Quote Link to post
