The first coursing dogs I seen were CN's Casper and Jack. He used to drop me and his son off with the dogs a few miles from home and we would walk back and run what we could on the way.

Strong looking bitch mate, what style did C Y's Wilkie have, got a grand daughter to him here

Wilkie was one the best dogs I've seen run. He was a very clever dog he used his head a lot could kill field or fen.

Scruf was a good one. Wilkie had a very big heart seen him cut him self one day coursing a hare. When he came back couldn't beleave the size and location of the cut nearly took his balls off. He was laid up a while after that Edited November 30, 2016 by craigo

Me at 15 with a pure saluki bitch. Killed um in stlye early on in her first season... by January it chased other dogs faster than hares... a more mental animal I have never met ?

The nearest anybody could get in a lurcher to the ultimate allrounder an honest as the days long type of dog.

​ My first proper lurcher bought as a pup out of the exchange and mart from Castle Bytham in lincs in the 70s a mix of lurcher to lurcher bred dogs but with no saluki influence but he could run a bit.
