Low Power From Ultra Se

Recommended Posts

never owned an ultra but 230bar seems like a lot of pressure, not many fill that high!

like vm said theres a power curve and it can be pretty dramatic

these are this mornings combro results .... inside and outside

also if you've oiled or unbalanced the hammer spring that can turn consistency to sh!t

no temp difference the shots outside were done within seconds of the inside!

if i do all testing in the kitchen all shots are consistent and the outside shots were bright but no direct sunlight!

and the batteries are new:)

I found with my ultra it preferred to only be filled to 190 bar, anything above and it started going wild.

Also, I know a lot of us swear by them, but I tested two guns, on two chrono's, one was a mates do bro mk4 and I used my Skan, well you wouldn't believe the difference between the two, still unsure which one is lying, I want to believe mine must be accurate as it self tests every time and all seems to be in the correct parameters, but my mate says he trusts his one more as it gives the results he wants to see !

I tested my crombo with a skan and both read the same inside and out ,apart from direct sunlight and that knocked it down by .5 ft/lbs

gonna borrow my mates f1 again... i know the crombros right in kitchen, thats where i pull stuff to bits and test any way!

had the crombo quite a while now and it varied from different light from new!

those skan's look like good bit of kit

I bought Nath's F1 Chrony because I was not too sure on SOME of the readings I got from the combro. Now in truth I have not got round to running the pair in tandem to establish any changes and will do so using FPS then convert to FPE.

As stated that there are some differences between inside and out showing on the Combro, I will make a point to do a new set of readings on the guns when time allows.

One point you mentioned was that you have fitted a shroud, as a matter of interest, have you tried removing the shroud, replace the mod and test again just in case you are getting an issue with the shroud and not aware of it. Perhaps nothing whatsoever to do with it but sometimes it is worth going back to square one and starting again which is really a process of elimination.

When I bought the gun it came with a test certificate stating 11.3ft lb with 8.4 gn pellets which is the holy grail value I'm chasing. I stripped the whole gun back to original condition yesterday. There wasn't much difference in power between the huub shroud and the moderator. There was a bit of an increase in power output when I took the de-pinger out (~0.3ft lb.). I think the best thing to do is some shot strings and plot the power curves for various setups - a job for tomorrow!
