Accip74 7,112
I recently decided to get an air rifle for the first time since my teens. I wanted to get either the pro-sport or a tx, but decided I couldn't really justify 800 to 1000 euros or more getting the full kit, gun, scope etc etc so plumped for the 97k instead. It wouldn't be used that much anyway. Well I've just had 2 faulty bran new guns in a row. First one had a broken spring, so took that back & exchanged. I then couldn't get the new one shooting right, so they sent me a new scope.......still no good! At this point Im starting to really doubt myself..haha, but took it back & have just been informed today that that one had some engineering issue......so we are on gun 3 now! Is this normal now with weihrauch or have I just been incredibly unlucky? Quote Link to post
steg 609
Think they had a problem with their barrels not long back and recalled a lot back? Not sure what models were affected though.. Quote Link to post

villaman 9,983
On all new guns you need to clean inside of the barrel before putting any pellets down it 1 Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
Don't let it put you off mate. In my minimal experience of Weihrauch springers (hw30s & hw97kt) they've been absolutely spot on 3 Quote Link to post

The first one is faulty without a doubt but if you haven't cleaned the barrel with a pull through , you will still have the factory grease inside the barrel causing it to shoot like a shotgun 1 Quote Link to post

Both gun barrels were cleaned by me. I'm sure the 3rd gun should be fine ;-) Quote Link to post
PeskyWabbits 464
Did you buy from here: https://www.db-schietsport.nl/nl/lucht-wapens/weihrauch/ I believe this is run by an Englishman. They also dispatch to the UK if anyone here fancies one. The continental shops are cheaper than ours, even including delivery. Though not sure about returns. Quote Link to post

A good price on the 97k, but AA's a lot more expensive than uk. Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
HW quality control is crap nowadays, the last 99s I tuned had so many bits of turnings embedded in the piston seal (brand new rifle) I scrapped it and replaced it with a Vortek one (superb) and the amount of swarf that came out when I de greased it all was quite staggering, most of the new HWs sound like a car crash(springers obviously) before de burring and tuning, its not on from a manufacturer that prides themselves on quality. 2 Quote Link to post

I'd naively assumed you couldn't go far wrong with weihrauch. If the Walther had felt better for me, I'd of took that tbh. I had read a couple of your posts on them. Quote Link to post
