Couldnt agree more Bracken Boy i think in England we seem to feel under pressure to play out from the back just because thats what Brazil and Spain do........and Stones is about as close as we have to that....the fact he aint that good a defender dont seem to be that important ! How many times do we see our central defenders f**k about with the ball trying to play out....nearly f**k it up and end up playing it back to the keeper to hoof it long anyway !......i wish we would just do what we,re good at instead of trying to be something we,re not. bird 9,873
who would you have then gnash in charge , what about Glen Hoddle ? i reckon he be good, but i think southgate ok, he should be given a go , they played quite well for 75 mins as i said , maybe they should have dropped back , kept more men at the back and defend that 2 goal lead, either way we didnt look a bad team its deff a improvement to what we have been of late . Hoddle would be my choice mate ive said even before Capello/Erikson were in charge that Hoddle didnt get a fair crack first time round we binned him for non football reasons and he had a lot to offer in my opinion he views the game the right way and had a good connection with the players......to be honest if Hoddle doesnt come back into management at some point it will be a waste of a good football man who played the game and sees the game the way we are now trying to play he was just ahead of his time..... i think they can be excused for continuing to go forward had it been a tournament game yes we would be livid for not shutting up shop but it was only a friendly after all the form was more important than the result and the form was good so if Southgate is to be in charge thats fine lets get into it.
