Unfortunately it is a waste of money. With signalling improvements, proper track maintenance and new rolling stock the 20 minutes saving between London and Birmingham is easily achievable with minimal capital outlay.

 

This PFI monstrosity will never be paid for, be a tax drain for years and lead to services on the existing lines being cut in order to bolster numbers on HS2.

A waste of millions. Who will be able to afford to use HS2 a lot? I'd rather they improved the roads and motorways with the money, or the railways we have already. HS2 is only for London workers to escape the place, they like the money, but don't want to live there.

Waste of money, and will get compensated 10% , the people who will be affected by Heathrow will be getting 25% , just the north getting shit on each and everywhere possible again, nothing new
