EDDIE B 3,166
For me, its all about learning, and thinking outside the box. It's about challenging your own abilities. I'd rather spend a week with Woodga, or Glenn Waters, (who are passionate about what they do), learning how to trap and snare, than to spend a week with some ( not all) the pesty's on here, (who are passionate about the money they make) carrying around a bag of snap traps, and a couple a mole traps, learning feck all. The same can be applied to this forum, by the way. 8 Quote Link to post
MR TEA POT 1,287
Ive just sat here thinking about how to hold the snare loop above the pole. Would cutting a little nick in the bark do the job. A nail or a wire staple knocked in to pole and tie snare to it .... the stiffness of the brass will allow snare to sit above the pole ? 1 Quote Link to post

unclepesta 101
Why traps are superior to snares: 1) Easy to set - no special skills 2) Versatile - can be put in small spaces or difficult to see areas so you don't need poles and wires sticking up everywhere 3) Discreet - traps can be hidden and obviously there are no dead bodies hanging on view for the antis to see 4) Humane - kills target outright rather than by slow strangulation 5) Quick - you can set in seconds with no fiddling around 6) Reusable - remove target and reset for the next one in seconds 7) Cage traps- you can release non targets unharmed They are facts. Carry on. 1.. no skill needed 2 3 5 i think snares shine above in many circumstances. 6 is probably a fair opinion 7 is the same for snares if using in a cable restraint capacity, i have snaring experience and started using the restraint concept a few years back, woodga made some microlock snares and sent em down, i caught fox next day on em alive and well. Im not knocking the traps im just sticking up for the wires. 1 Quote Link to post
