Steve Thomson 24
I thought if I could get this to full power it would be perfect for hunting Quote Link to post
bilbobagins 92
Anything is possible but I think the idea of the gun was for kids to have a low powered easy to cock and smooth to shoot springer, I think upping the power would make it a bit harsh and lively to shoot Quote Link to post
Steve Thomson 24
Okay thanks Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
Add a few washers at the piston... what's it running at the the moment? Quote Link to post

neil82 1,080
9 and a bit ft pounds that's plenty for most hunting, its more down to putting pellets in the right place than hitting as hard as possible, and if you uprate that gun you will very likely make it a pig to shoot Quote Link to post

Greyman 28,625
I thought if I could get this to full power it would be perfect for huntinggetting full power is easy, but getting useful power is another story, it can be done but will cost you more time and money than the gun is worth so unless it has a special place in your heart I would sell it and buy a full power springer like an hw80 or an air arms, the reason these make good full power rifles is due to there weight absorbing much of the recoil, there are very few small full powered springers that are nice to use without some tuning, the bsa Lightning is a typical example Quote Link to post
JBWALES 5
9 and a bit ft pounds Most .22 model HW30's don't make that, you must have got extremely lucky with that that one. I would be inclined to leave it alone, they were not designed for full power. Better off buying a full power gun. John. 1 Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
It's 177 Then as said you have got a good one, if you want a small light full power rifle similar to your hw30 get yourself a hw99 a TBT tuning kit and a Vortek piston seal, along with some polishing and fettling will get it up to close to the legal limit, BUT it will have to be a .22 mate, as the .177 version will not get much above 10.5 ftlbs. 1 Quote Link to post
