Now lads. Im looking to get myself a website (I know-shame on me for not having one)

Ive not really wanted one before as im % rural and word of mouth is better out in the sticks. Anyway ive been having a look at the different host sites etc and im wanting something easy, basic and cheap, a simple one page thing, nowt fancy.

For a small business providing a local service, the web page itself is not that important any more. Getting onto the google results for your area is where it's at. Look into google + and google places for business. It's something you can do yourself and doesn't cost anything, although it can be worth paying for google adwords when there is likely to be business around like wasp season. I think you could do it without having a web page for your business, a google + page should be enough. Look at how people search for services on a tablet or smartphone - they search with google and call the business by pressing the blue phone next to the search result, very few visit the web page of the business itself.

It's very cheap and easy to use

You build it yourself but any idiot can do it

Wix are pretty good. You can buy a domain name and set up a diversion to one of these free website builders. So you can keep a snappy, easy website name
