Phil Lloyd 10,738
My Australian Cattle Dog lurchers were good old things,.but nearly all of them were Alpha types, both dogs and bitches... I believe that I am a fair trainer of working dogs,...but no way could I change their primitive urge to attack strange dogs, that were not 'in the gang'. Luckily,..they accepted other hunting type breeds, no problem and would fit in immediately with most lurchers and terriers. But, when we were out having a mouch,...I had to tell them to get in behind if we encountered a gobby canine ....my dogs had a fair old sprinkling of the wild dog Dingo flowing through their veins and you had to assure them, that the stranger in the camp,..really was no problem.... They were the same with folk who took liberties and would not hesitate to bite anyone who grabbed hold of me,... At first it was reassuring, but after a while I realised that, in my opinion,..the lurcher world was not ready for such unique critters Funnily enough,..one of the most aggressive canines I have seen, was an early imported, grey grizzle Saluki male... He was a large beast, fabulously noble and a hell of a coursing hound,..but, by feck you had to watch him.... Extremely powerful..... Edited November 12, 2016 by Phil Lloyd 4 Link to post

General lee 979
My Saluki dog 5 years old soft as f**k with people but he wont tolerate any dog be it a dog. bitch or pup invading his personal space he will draw blood . When in the van with other dogs they have to be caged for their own protection his size means if he is caged the cage fills the van. He is a dominant dog yet once out on the land he doesnt pay any attention to other working dogs unless they try to take his catches then its a dangerous place to be. I personally wouldn't put up with that from a terrier or lurcher pal-funny how folk judge others when they obviously don't have their own yards in check. the reason you have kept it this long is money imo-if it wasn't the case then you 'd of rolled it into a hole along time ago?sounds like poor, lazy ,early socialising on your part pal.only time I'd tolerate aggressive behaviour is if one dog enters another's kennel/run-scraping in the back of a motor/ out on the land is a big no no.atb dcForgot amore about and trained more hunting animals than youve seen you sound lik a prick lurchers may or may not be your thing dont teach others about things you know f**k all about. As for money I dont puppy peddle or need to make money out of my stock and as for rolling into a hole its probably what yours are fit for I said he doesnt scrap out on the land if you have a dog that surrenders its game to another dog it is a wanker fit for the bullit As long as they are not human aggressive tand they do their job good enough for me DB you are the most arrogant know all I have ever known and there's no shortage of them on here just because you have a saluki doesn't mean every other lurchers is a mongrel working pet the saluki is a plodder that can't cut it in England so has to be crossed with British breeds just to be worth feeding You really think I am interested in what you think? As for Salukis have you ever seen a decent one another numpty stick to the fairground rides. As people say, I feed them shovel their shit and work them what the f**k has it to do with you ? Of course I haven't seen a decent one because there ain't one they are desert shit like everything that comes from the desert absolute rubbish Told you stick to the Ferris wheel and dodgems your out of your depth I'm going round on the dodgems now but it's more fun reading about these Salukis that can do anything but have to be crossed with British stuff to catch anything that isn't a camel 1 Link to post

Extremely powerful..... i know the pure acd are brill guards, and wont tolerate strange dogs, a farmer had one like phil says you had to be very careful if he was out in the yard, most times he was on a chain . but thought that acd x grey would be alot calmer with greyhound in its veins . the most aggressive dog ive had with people and dogs , was a kelpie x collie x gey , as ive said before very dangerous to man or dog , she soon went one way ticket . suppose with lurchers regards temp or physical ability , you really never know what gene it will pick up from either parent as some could have a acd temp and some greyhound temp you just never know which way a pup will throw to . Buck threw to the greyhound temp with people and dogs very friendly , but when hunting think its a wolf 2 Link to post
