Not necessarily. It all depends on the bushing pup's breeding. If it comes from good working stock that can't wait to get into cover then I can't see any problem letting it run about with a lurcher, e

I have the litter brother to squabs pup. He's been going into cover since he hit 4 months. Never pushed him. Like you say he was picking up scent. He's now into everything. I think there is value in g

i mentioned it on my thread because i bought a busher many years ago that was fit for feck all,it had been bought on by continually letting it follow an older dog,not a mistake i intend to make with m

Have not done it as no reason to,don't matter though sure we all hear soon enough pups got it cracked cheers

I've never had a reason to wank another man off but I wouldn't tell someone not to do it. Each to their own

I would, it's disgraceful!

Gaz you've had a adult Plummer and adult cocker bull your first two bushing dogs, which one was a more a digging bitch. so what have you had before them that you have taught to work cover from a pup buy chucking stuff in, genuine question. I to know of nobody who has used this method you talk about.

Neither entered cover when I got them. And the bull cocker was 14 months so definitely still a pup. I used a rabbit skin dummy with them both.

As for the plummer being more of a digging dog she bushed better than anything I've seen when she was above.

I don't know why people feel the need to question someone thinking they know the full story when they only really know less than half.

For the record the plummer wasn't my first busher ?

So it's true Gaz there your first two dogs anything over twelve months is a adult. The Plummer was the best you've seen but to slow I've heard you saying! not to mention it going to ground getting lost for days on end, you did a good job with that one lol. also when the lad sold you the bull X cocker he told you it was bushing, if she weren't doing anything when you had her she needed longer to settle plus it was over weight and out of shape as the lads circumstances had changed. I have one here took 3 weeks to settle she's flying now. You got an answare for everything and comment on nearly every thread on thl you ever thought of wrighting books? there's not much you don't know tbf to you .

You have talked more shit in your last few posts than I have in my 9 years on the forum ?

Plummer and bull X cocker were my first 2 dogs. Lol. You clearly know everything about me so I don't need to say anything. You can tell everyone all they need to know ?

As for me needing to get out more, I guarantee my dogs spend longer in the field than MOST on here. And that's a fact. They ain't world beaters and I've never claimed to be a super hunter but time in the field is one thing me or my dogs don't lack.

If half of you spent as long in the field as you do bitching and trying to pick fault with posts on here then you would do alright.

Never heard of it before to be honest but each to there own i guess if it helps one day come on then fair play but i cant see it my self and i had to rehome my busher but i know full well he will make a good dog and would exspect a busher to be doing his job by 7-9 months

im just saying the pups 5 month old,its no where near the point where you need to be concerned and start to come up with ideas or methods just yet to get it to enter cover other than getting it out.if i was concerned id be getting it out ferreting, but im not lol
