philpot 5,035
Because I am retired, I can go shooting at the drop of a hat, so to speak and with that in mind it is normally on my own as my shooting friends are working. The only time I go out with anyone is on a weekend but in truth I prefer weekdays, always quieter. Phil Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
Most of the time on my own , shoot with 3 different blokes every now and again , had 6 over the years who wanted to shoot and who came out with me but only each only lasted no more than a month or two . Eather to cold , to dark , girl friend / wife trouble , car or van trouble . Waste of time the lot of them ,or could it be me but i can't imagine that 4 Quote Link to post

David.evans 5,323
On your own , I find best less noise, go where you want , no red glows all over the fields ( fags)! Less light if you use torches , ect ect , But when all said and done to have a shooting buddy , wouldn't be bad and company and a crac , counts for a lot I've been out with a few lads on here and a great time was had , and look forward to the next time If I'm allowed now ? walshie 2,804
I normally go with someone. There's a couple of reasons. Firstly if you're miles from the car and something bad happens, it's good to have backup. And secondly it's always good to have a witness if you get into a row with an anti. And good to have someone to ponce fags off. Quote Link to post

philpot 5,035
My wife and I had 'Road Angels' and they saved us on quite a few occasions but they both died so now we get caught, my wife has just been on a speed awareness day and I am waiting for paperwork to come back for me to go on one..............................................fcuk. Must tell you Si, you can set an alarm for a new speed trap that is not picked up on the system and one day whilst working out how to do that task sat on the drive at home, cracked it I thought, until I twigged that I set a new speed trap alarm in the drive so every day as I pulled into the drive the fcuking alarm went off, never did work out how to cancel it. steg 609
Like a bit of both meself ? There's an old boy i go out with..(ffs I'm digging myself a deeper hole here haha) suffered a heart attack a few year's ago out on his perm..luckily near the farmhouse and he won't go out alone now so i get phone call once or twice a month off him for a look out which is a nice change of scenery. Gets picked up and dropped off too the crafty old fox! Ha 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Since I moved to Lincolnshire I'm always out shooting on my own. Love it! Space and peace to think and get away from the cares and worries of running a business and in some of the most beautiful agricultural countryside in Britain. I'm a really lucky bugger here. Got some fantastic rabbit and pigeon shooting to get away to. 1 Quote Link to post
