Just Started Biting

Need some advice please! Never had this before. My 3 year old hob has started to bite and by Christ he bites hard! My partner needed 5 stitches to her wrist a couple of months ago. I wasn't happy about this but she stayed calm and blamed it on frustration where he hadn't been worked for a while. So we packed the kit up and took them out. He was fine whilst out working. He has been fine since then. Until yesterday he went for me whilst being worked and he has bitten my partner today. Any help would be appreciated

Not 100% but have u changed its food lately say from summer food to winter? Sometimes that can spark them off.

General food has stayed the same kibble/cat food/chicks. They had a road kill pheasant Sunday morning but that isn't unusual.

If hes biting to the extent where he gave your partner 5 stitches and hes still trying to have a go, scruff him hard as you can and shake the shyte out him everytime he attempts it. If that doesnt work after a while nothing will, time to give him a dunt.

I would be looking at there is something medically wrong with the ferret? If it is out of character for him perhaps he is being hurt when picked up? ferrets are notoriously good at hiding injuries and illness.

Big bar of coal tar soap, or any strong smelling soap, put that in cage first every time, and let him bite it, then make sure you wash your hands with the same soap, every time before you handle him, so he associates the smell with your hand, the smell will link to the memory of the taste, it usually works for me, one of the issues you see are people over handling them, ie for too long, they get pissed off, being held in one place, they can be busy little animals and some get bored easily, if that fails, the alternative has already been mentioned,

Cheers for the advice. I will try the soap idea Darren. But if this doesn't work. He will be dispatched. Which is a shame as he his a great worker!
