After the moggi thou van, I had an Anglia estate, it did not have a steering rack just a steering box which was well worn, it was the post above that reminded me of it. You used to turn the wheels full lock from side to side just to keep it in a straight line in the end, going around corners was pretty precarious to say the least. Funnily enough most of my cars were death traps back then.

Not as vintage as some fellas on here but mine was suzuki vitara sport with a soft top, only a 1.6 but it'd go anywhere, remember me and my mate was pulled up at a set of traffic lights with the dogs in the back, a cat walked past and the dogs simply jumped though the window that already had a rip in it, but we had some cracking nights in it and put a good amount of game away

I remember a mate had a Sherpa van with sliding doors along with ex Telecom Bedford ha vans

Was reading the paper online earlier and about some poor girl from Coventry and they are investigationg around Coombe Abbey.

Well this thread entered my head as it was one of the first places I ever seen a dog behind a rabbit, used to visit my grandad as kids and us kids and the whippets piled into his bedford van as in the pic above, hand painted his were as he was a painter and decorator, might have been ex GPO or gas van?

, me and my brother sat on paint tins till the first corner where then youd hear the unmistakble sound and feel of a kids head hitting the side of the van LOL & for a few hours we'd be great white hunters around Coombe Abbey & other places in the vicinity. Can remember seeing them whippets like it was only a year or so ago instead of 40!

my first vehice for getting the dogs about was same as tiercels a moggy minor 10000 van, except it was green in colour, all the local farmers and small delivery firms had them, easy to work on and get parts at the time,i got mine of the local butcher what a shed used to stink of rotten meat, had no 1st gear, could see the road through the floor, had no window in drivers door, butgot me round the country with lurchers and ferrets for agood while, had no money in those days so i gave the butcher 80 lamped rabbits, and he gave me my first dogging vehicle, great days, great times and great memories, then i progressed to escort vans and estates that werent in much better condition .lol
