A Textbook Day

Had a trip to our permission today, left at half 6 and was on the land about 9,,

I left rew and Richard to it and took my two jills and two dogs LASS and DUKE, I don't get to ferret them much together as we normally take one dog each, the first field consist of a few 2-3 holes, I had one out of each set with dogs accounting for them,

I moved onto another part and whilst ferreting I was approached by a neighbouring farmer, after a good chat we had gained a good few more acres to go at,,

I went on to a few sets he pointed out for me, there was a good ten holes on the first set I tried out and put one net over the furthest hole away, after thunderous rumbling a rabbit erupted into the net with one follwed behind, the second rabbit hit the first then ran into me then the dogs picked it up after a short course, I moved on picking the easiest I could find for me and the dogs, we had a good few bolts and catches, no waiting around, no digs, just good honest bolters lol I headed back to meet them two with 15 bunnies to find out they had the same ammount to make an even thirty, was a cracking day, just laid back soaking in the scenery enjoying the dogs work, thanks for looking ?

nice one lads. i had a little trip out ferreting myself today with my young team. i got the spot and was putting my boots on to realize i had forgot my shovel so i had to shoot straight back home and fetch it. that was a hour out of the day.

i managed 6 rabbits i took the pup who is only 7 months old and 2 of this years kits. only out just over 3 hours loads of scent, not sure if the old dog was being put of marking by the pup either

I couldn't think of anything better, than getting out in the country with dogs, ferrets, and friends. Love it! thz for sharing great pics.
