It is true though, it's wierd hunting without your own dogs.

Hi I'm the host. The trip is not just going to be pig hunting with dogs. I'm sure there will be people out there like me that's into alot of different types of hunting. I can offer red deer pigs chamois possum hares rabbits ducks tahr etc from walk in tent camping in the mountains to hunting from huts or from the truck. trout fishing from bank or jetboat. Accommodation and car provided. The days would be like 2 days guided hunting then set you off looking around. fishing etc. Then another 2 days guided hunting. Then your off home so the non guided days will be free

its a great country and great experience to do it, my mate sister lives there, and he gone over couple times , he didnt do the pigs but had some brill fishing. the pig hunting a real buzz over there, they use any type of x as long as its got good nose,wind,guts when he was there , boxer x labs type dogs were popular , and there no foxes there, only feral cats, but the pigs are enough to test any dog. both man + dog got to be fit / strong as you have to carry the pig back on your shoulders, ok if its 100lb, but bigger you bloody know about it lol, as you be up/down mountains etc . not for me as i am to old lol, but younger bloke would be great experience / trip if it cost flight/digs/food/hunting 2 grand there abouts its not bad

You will love it Owain. The place is incredible and Kurt has been an great host. It's worth the trip for the scenery and the fishing. The hunting is the icing on the cake!

It's something I'd defiantly be interested in, I used to live over in Aus and had a few outings piggin when I worked on a ranch in the outback. Was defiantly a life experience. Always fancied goin over to nz while I was there just never got around to it. My biggest regret.

I have never hunted nz but I have visited three times for family reasons and it is a beautiful country and the people are as honest and decent as they come. I will go hunting there one day I am just not sure which species yet.

Got any pics of the activities you offer mate?The red deer racks that I have seen on video over there are humungous.

I saw some of the red deer they almost looked like a different species.
