I got them heat tubes, they are handy fellas I got mine off amazon, my shivering shit bag of a Plummer loves it lol the cold doesn't seem to bother the lurcher being ruff coated but i do put them on every night this time of year just to take the chill off them

I use Equafleece coats. Especially after a day in the field and they have a long journey in the truck back home. Warm, rainproof and stretchy. Best bit is it wicks moisture away from the dog and dries them out whilst keeping warm.

, had my heat lamps on for about 5-6 days, they deff do the trick, you can tell because the blankets they sleep on have stayed in one position, so the dogs have just stretched out and not moved in the night .

im sure it helps them when they get to old bones aswel TBH I had an old lurcher bitch deerhound x, she wudnt keep any bedding down and lock her in her kennel and she d go bizerk so I used to leave the door on a jar and let her do her own thing coz she'd howl all fuking night otherwise, the fuking thing was a nightmare lol, and it defo took its toll on her she seemed to age a lot quicker than she should of in all honesty and she wasn't overly worked, in my new kennels theyr off the floor draft free theyr kennels insulted and them heat tubes on every night this time of year a bit of tlc goes a long way imo ?

I derive great pleasure in looking after my wee Mouchers ...

I like to see them warm and comfortable,...I spoil them something rotten...

Obviously,..nowadays,..they are mostly pets,...but, there was a time when I owed the lurcher a great debt of gratitude.

Without their constant endevour, I would have been finished,...and most definitely skint...

 

"Work them hard, and treat them like heroes"...

no my lot are a relaxed bunch,they never try chew or interfere with anything.their also in individual kennells

i just use one from pets at home and plenty of bedding should of got the size up mind lol

what it's like mate I was gonna get that one for my dog but I read the reviews on pets at home and they wasn't that good

 

does the job pal the dog dont moan anyway lol

I looked into underfloor heating in the box but to expensive for 3 separate boxes. Also 3 heat lamps would eat away at the electric. I have been looking at these bed heaters on eBay. Only 10watts each and a constant temp of 40deg. Anyone use them?

trying to incorporate it into a kennel floor and make it dog proof was what put me off.

I will use it in they're box under the bedding, probably cover it with 5mm ply board, I will be buying and installing it in the next week or so. I will let you know how it goes. ATB

use something that is a better heat sink to cover it. And likewise underneath it that reflect heat upwards. There are sheets of stuff that go under underfloor heating that should do the job

i just put a tube heater up in the kennel,£20 ebay, never knew about them till i read on here,happy dogs and happy owner.

Sounds good idea to me. I run heat lamps and the bulbs are a tenner each
