Just got my tax return, and the enjoyment officer has given the nod for a new gun.

would appreciate any ideas/ reviews,

Spring

left handed/ambidextrous

Good straight out of the box ( not need tuning straight away)

Used for rabbits and pigeons, and occasional target shooting on a Sunday

no faff

also any decent scope recommendations ?

I agree with Vizlauk about a left handed stock with a right handed action as a desirable set up. TX200 and HC Carbine are available in all left-hand stock and actions. They are incredibly accurate spring air rifles and I'm definitely thinking of buying one again.

For any spring powered air rifle, silencers are a waste of time and money. They cannot muffle the crack of the spring piston action activating in the cylinder and there's no really noticeable benefit of hush at the muzzle end in my experience.

Makes your rifle look longer is about it really.

Thanks for the replies

vizlauk/pianoman,why left handed stock and right handed action?

Well, if you think of being left handed you'd think you might hold the rifle at the grip with your left hand and cock the lever with your right. After all, the right hand for us, is the leading hand on the forestock. But then, being left handed we lead with our left so, tend to think of cocking the rifle with our left hand while our right holds the rifle at the grip and reaches for the pellet, it's a subconscious swapping over of the hands that happens with some of us lefties. To cock and hold the lever with the left and load from the right is actually quicker and easier for some us.

As it is the current way is alright but, we lead with our left as others lead with their right.
