Spot Of Rabbiting

Got out today, a bit later than what I wanted due to delays, but managed a few hrs ?

Boxed up a couple of jills, loaded Snipe up, a 25yd long net, 2 stop nets and off we went.

Takes a good half hour to get to the spot, so plenty of time to imagine how things might go, or at least how I hoped things would go ?.

Arrived safely at the location, not as nicer weather as the last few days, but that didn't deter my, or the dog's enthusiasm.

Got myself all laden with gear, opened the gate into the field and almost instantly Snipe had a mark ( game on).

Set the long net up, leaving a large opening into the field, where perhaps Snipe could get a run and blocking the way for rabbit's to hole hop.

Entered the ferret and there was the usual anticipation of a bolt, from me and the dog.

It wasn't long before we had 2 rabbits well netted up in the longnet and no more from that burry.

Off we went again and this time I was hoping for a catch for the dog.

Another mark, nice wee burry, ferret entered, a short run and catch for Snipe (magic) ?.

Had a brew and continued, with 5 caught in the longnet, 1 for Snipe, 1 missed and 1 dig.

Had to leave it at that for today, but they will be there another day ?
