terryd 8,590
I get the impression any thing really. Just depends what you want be it just a marker which gives you the full range of dogs or some thing to catch bolters as well Round here my best dog has been a jack russell 1 Quote Link to post
Bobtheferret 1,252
I've always used various whippet lurchers, done me proud. Probably best is a first cross whippet bedlington, always seems to just be in the right place. When he was younger had plenty of pace for the job to. Quote Link to post
jsb 6
I like a dog That can mark up and chase the odd bolter. I also like a bit of a shaggy coat on a dog for the rougher areas Quote Link to post
HedgeCrawler 224
I use my collieXspringer at the minute but I've got a whippet type pup that I'll use when he's ready. The springer collie is a great marker and net holder he'll also catch the occasional bolter. 1 Quote Link to post

lifelong cumbrian 1,826
I have a decent beddy whippet bitch, got a young collie grey just had 1 ferreting trip so far but looks promising. Seen some cracking 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddys. Had terriers for ferreting best being a Russell and my best ferreting dog ever was a farm bred collie bitch. Had other beddy x lurchers and lurcher x lurcher. Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
This bitch has done very well the few times she's been, she is reliable with her marks, very patient, knows which hole the rabbit is bolting from and has nabbed a couple as they bolted... 2 Quote Link to post
Chunky11 150
Beddy/greyxgrey/wpt. He is good at the job but could do with more coat. I used to have a col/grey/wpt bitch & she was probably my best ferreting companion, always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. Quote Link to post
