It's all very well shouting about the Geneva convention and the rules of combat etc ... but these rules were written by men in offices wearing smart suites and clean shirts ... the reality is that nob

yep if I get caught digging somewhere I shouldn't and get done then them the rules and there's nothing I can or you can do about it...when you know you're breaking the rules and you get caught there's

Once the rat who downloaded the footage made it accessible ,there wasn't much option but to go through the courts ,justice has to be seen to be done and all that ,hopefully the man is looked after whe

I have experienced politicians incompetence myself trying to stop coal mining in Sydney's water catchment area, seriously who would mine their water catchment area??? I am embarrassed to even say it! I presented irrefutable evidence of the irreversible damage to the area and the ramifications and the heart-warming promises and comforting words were inspiring! Until the very next week the same politicians signed off to extend the mining operation! This is just one such story, there are many more, but if the so called leaders will let corporations poison our drinking water there is not much they won't let them do. The worst thing is people hardly care...

Im ashamed to admit i know very little about climate change and cared not a lot about it either.but recently watched a few things on it. Its scary to think it could all go to shit one day.

you have to feel for those countries who have no checks in place and shit being spewed into the air and water and literally no one gives a f**k.

While watching that programne tonight i felt a tad guilty and a bit of a hypocrite as i have a roaring coal fire on lol

I notice it in my village @nights and first thing in the morning. That sulphur smell and smog as everyone's fires are lit.

I wouldn't feel bad about having a fire and I am not convinced climate change is our biggest threat (in saying that I am not an expert) but some places should not be touched and water catchment areas that provides drinking water for millions is just ridiculous to me and something I will always fight for.

....I'll play devil's advocate...

We set laws of war to prove we are above the enemy morally....one of those laws is you can't execute enemy soldiers who can't fight back....this soldier did just that.

He didn't film it...neither did one of his unit grass him up....many soldiers are made to wear helmet cams....at a later date someone came across this footage.

We shouldn't of been in iraq, or Afghanistan....that is now clear....but that isn't the worry of a solider, his job is to serve on our behalf unquestionably....so we should all support soldiers 100%....I know I do.

In war what he did has always happened, a war hardened soldier shot an injured yet heavily armed enemy. He's a victim of modern warfare and technology. The guy who shot the burglers only served 3 years and he shot one in the back as he ran away!

Most of us would agree the sentence was to long.

Stop arguing with big Gay Dave and the ayatollah....we see ourselves as British and we have a pride in that for what it's worth....they don't.

There's enough things we're supposed to feel guilty about. Keeping ourselves warm isn't one

Chuck another few lumps on.

as you say they wear helmet cams, so really thinking about, he should have took his helmet off, and wait till nobody was about and killed him then, as been said he was badly injured so he die from his injuries anyway . and in any war there must have been badly injured prisoners , who prob have died in the same way, i keep saying its war, and war a terrible thing people die fit and injured  what this soldier did was right, but he should done it in a different way like i say above :yes:

I still cant for the life of me understand why its illegal to kill the enemy in a war whether they are injured or not.

It's quite simple gnash ... the rules are made by public school boys sat in Whitehall in their clean pressed shirts and Italian suites and not by guys who have been on the sharp end belly down in blood and piss with bullets landing all around you ......

Same opinion Gnasher as once you become a terrorist any "Rights" you have go straight out the window . , or it should do , when the Sas stormed the Iranian embassy once they entered the building the terrorists where as good as dead whether they'd off downed weapons or not , The 1 who survived only did so as he mingled with the hostages & was only pointed out once outside the building . . Imagine how Thatcher would of reacted if someone wanted to even ask could the terrorists of not been arrested she'd of went ballistic , never mind jailing 1 off them they where treated as Hero's & rightly so . . How the country has changed for the worst over the last 35yrs .

But that's not always been the case Socks as Thatcher proved . . And anyone in Whitehall having that opinion when she was PM would of been out the door quicker that Cameron was after Brexit !!

Its why we vilafied the SS and japs for killing pows etc.

Guess they are trying to add some moral rules in a war... which i have always found bizzare.

Yea protect civillians thats a given. Even though we all know they do become victims. But as socks said whitehall and other goverment bodies deciding whats moraly acceptable in a war zone is ludicrous. Surely the moral issue side of things is with the individual soldier and taking someones life rightly or wrongly is something he alone has to live with.

Im not saying give them carte blanche to murder rape and pillage like the f***ing russians do. However your asking them to go to war for you@ least give them some f***ing credit to make decisions for themselfs.

Just my opinion ive never served in the army but its common sense to me.

Yea im pretty sure thats who he means. I remember watching that f***ing mob pulling those men from that scirocco hitting one with a wheel brace bundling them into a taxi and then executing them.

The one time i wish our soldiers weren't so proffesional. Should have emptied there guns into that ugly mob bar one round which I would put into my own head to deny them the satisfaction.

I actually cried watching that unfold on the news very sad. Cant even begin to think how those guys felt in those last moments!
