Running out of amo

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a bit desperate now!

Anyone out there, close to the midlands UK know a good local supply of ammo?

I'm finding it difficult let alone almost frustrating trying to locate fullbore ammo. I shoot usually around 147 grain 7.62 x 51 (.308"). I am informed the problem is caused by China and it's hunger for raw metals as well as the problems i(fighting supplies of ammo) n Iraq & Afghanistan.

I have found a few scrats of winchester (20 here, 20 there) 180/185 grain but at £18/£19 per 20. I don't think so.

Also, just recently I've found .22 LR becoming harder to find, supposidly for the same reasons.

James :hmm:

Midwayuk.com

These are 2 companies but owned by the same person and sell factory ammo and reloading.

I hope you are not bouncing around from 7.62 to .308 in the same chamber.......take a look at this......

Hi Deker

I have seen both of these suppliers on the web and I think if i'm right I have to contact them first to arrange a time to go over to purchase. I think it is a home address where they trade from?

Thanks for your concer regards .308 in a 7,62 chamber. (I had also seen this site before), but I am the other way around a .308 chamber using 7,62.

Just so long as you know what you are doing on the calibers, you are obviously one step ahead of most who, believing the bullet is identical in size seem to just assume the whole cartridge will be. (that could be a very painful and costly mistake)

Take nothing away from Peter Lawman but if you get the chance go and see Peter Starley (Black Powder/Midway), he has a cracking gaff and Rangerover! Both these guys are good, most RFD are, but you are right..call first to make sure they have the stock and are available to see you. The price of their ammo would, in many cases make it well worth driving a few miles to see them!...but there is plenty more to look at anyway! I'm heading off this afternoon to use some of Peters ammo (no bias there).

Cheers
