Phil I leave it on throu out the prose's Phil one for when im rubbing the stock down as not to take to much off when sanding or wire wool,ing it or if you dont and you take more off than you need then the pad will not fit when put back on use the pad as a guide i bath the stock with the pad on so i can keep an eye on the wood swelling as you dont want that to happen . hope this helps Phil atvbjimmy :thumbs: Quote Link to post
