Dislocated Elbow

My lurcher bitch dislocated her elbow at the weekend when turning. We got her to a vet and he managed to pop it back in fairly easy. has anyone had this with there dog before and did it turn in to a reoccurring thing? She's about 20 month old.

Never had a dog pop an elbow but in my experience once a dog has popped a joint it generally becomes an ongoing problem ... there will have been a weakness there in the first place for it to dislocate ........

Great!!! Had one dog with a snapped cruciate in March and now my other one has done this!! Just can't get the luck with dogs this time round!

bloody hell you having bad luck, as ken says it might be a on going prob, suppose just keep trying the dog, if it keep breaking down with it, you prob have to get another dog and try again from scratch .

My mate dislocated his shoulder.went to hospital about 3 times.

After that he pops it back in himself been over 10 times now.

As socks said once it goes once.it will keep popping out.

As already said it's prob gonna be a weak spot...

Back to square one "again" I guess. I kind of thought this myself but put it out to hear others opinions. The vet said it popped back in a bit to easy aswell.

Have a word with a bone man they probably have 1st hand knowledge of this type of thing .

carry a can of wd40 in yer sky rocket.

Could have just been unfortunate carry on running it , if it happens again then you know its a conformation fault.
