desertdog 149
Has anyone had this in their area, walked on a place today and found dead rabbits everywhere, not good, would it be possible to innocculate some rabbits and let them back out,it may take time for them too get back in numbers, could it be done ?most landowners want them gone, but what about us lads who hunt them are we on the endangered list with out our quarry? gnipper 6,475
Them rabbit vaccines aren't meant to work so I've been told, shame really though as I'd give it a go if the vaccine was available without a vet involved. Quote Link to post

"are we on the endangered list with out our quarry" ?,...well, i see the concern,.....its worrying ?,....seen a report (earlier in the year), about a study carried out. The researchers reckon, there could be less than a million rabbits left, in Scotland,....as a result of RHVD (1&2) ? Dont know how accurate this is ?,..but ive heard rumours, 'numbers' are well down, on some of the 'strongholds', up North (Scotland) Quote Link to post
The one 8,479
Had a guy over from the isle of man for a long weekend took him up to a farm in Perth i had been saving and as we got out the motor i could see dead rabbits in the fields we still had a average day but i felt gutted Quote Link to post
micky 3,325
no rabbits around me [uppingham , oakham , south east leics,] usually i can sell 40/50 a week this season i am struggling for one . I have not seen any dead in the fields and the dog has only had one with mixi ,i know a couple of old boys who catch a lot of rabbits in Norfolk and though they are getting top dollar their bags are well down on previous years but they think it will pick up in the newyear after the shooting ends Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
Here in my corner of county Meath in Ireland it's rampant and even some of the farmers who had a problem are sickened by it. You even see rabbits sitting in the open looking at you and you walk up to them and they're stone dead. Very sad IMO. Quote Link to post
Pirate 9000 676
Rabbit numbers are very low around me some farmers saying leave them as they like to see a few about and are important food for wildlife I can't see numbers recovering any time soon. 1 Quote Link to post

FENN 24
I have a farm in Monmouth which had a lot of rabbits on it but now i am seeing dead ones all over the place .shame as this place has not had anyone on there doing the rabbits for 10 years or more and to find a farm with such numbers down this way is something special .But im sure they will recover come the spring /summer .
