wuyang 513
I've been on and off with the catapult and need to get into the habit of carrying it with me when mooching with the dogs. I have what I think is called the scout catapult which came with flat latex bands, I moved to theraband when the latex wore. I would like advice on what band set up you would recommend for hunting pheasants pidgeons squirrels etc.....I would probably be using 9.5 steel balls...tubed or flat bands etc. Thanks
gamerooster 1,179
I'm not a steel fan, they lack knoclick down power but lads who do use them use 30-25mm singles, but it's headshots only
wuyang 513
Cheers, what setup do you use game Rooster?
gamerooster 1,179
Doubles 30-23mm tapers and 12mm lead, 16mm when I'm roost shooting
Emitto 17
I shoot taper 28-22 singles with 9.5mm steel!
wuyang 513
I shoot taper 28-22 singles with 9.5mm steel! I've never used tapers, but I will definitely give it a go. Cheers
paulmccatapult 21
I'd use 25-20 singles semi butterfly draw with 9.5 steel but hunting I'd always recommend lead it packs more punch carry strap more velocity and impact. Even a bean ball 8x11mm weights the same as a 9.5 steel but it's a lot more effective to hunt with and still using your single band set up. Remember flat bands can under preform in cold weather so make sure you max out your draw to get the best out of them Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk

Might save and buy some moulds.....should be able to get hold of some old lead pipe to melt down. For taking general one for the pot stuff what size lead would you go for and bands to match?
