Lurchers Running From Motor

hiya lads, heard alot of people referring to there dogs running from the motor.

 

just wandering how this works.......do you drive along spot the game and then get out to release the dog?

 

or does the dog jump through the window? if so will they return through the window?

 

or is the dog running loose at side of truck ?

 

just interested to see what lads do?

I literally drive the motor clean onto the quarry then let dogs out boot once parked on top of it!!!

yes I normally drive over it then reverse back over it again before letting my dog on it, most times I just stop beside roadkill and photo it with my dog to make people think it killed it unscathed haha

Depends where you are and what your doing,,driving the land with a dog trotting along side is a good method on some places ,,I had a big old place out near the fens,,,driving round the edge of the field clockwise with a dog trotting worked very well...after a good few runs,,,swap the dog over,,,stopping evey now and then to gut rabbits and give the dogs a drink

That's not really why lads do it!! There plenty of lads that walk that need to yo their dogs fitness levels too. Might surprise themselves

You've got to think of it like this, all the folk slagging the men off that do this and their dogs but don't realise that driving the fields you're going to spot more things and get more runs in a night than walking your dogs so in reality you're taxing the dogs more than a walk out....

It's funny as most of the lads I know who are dead against lamping out a motor catch f**k all anyway!!
