Both these dogs are 3/4 pit 1/4bull black dog is 26 inch and up in Scotland working all quarry the other is about 22 23 inch working one thing both very good dogs in there own field there half brother

Digging terrier's sold as bushing dogs because they failed at their job, half cross bulls sold as lurchers because they aint got the heart to do what they are bred for. Then these failed dogs are bred

If your half crosses are bred from the right stuff and capable then why would you need any more bull blood.

Do you think a 3/4 bull 1/4 grey.

Would have more fire in its belly than a.

1/2 x bull.grey.

Perhaps the dog aint need for running.

Just standing about.waiting.

A half cross can stand around but it can run too if needed too.And how much fire do they need to kill something half their size or less.
Depends on how much work is put in front of it.

And how much explosive power is needed.

Maybe the dog is out tomorow and the day after.

No good working a sore dog.

so is a reverse 3/4 not going to get bitten then or sore then?I've owned worked and seen plenty of other good bull lurcher work over the years.Ive also owned worked and seen other well bred bulldogs work over the years and one thing I've noticed is that the bull crosses normally have better finish than pure bulls or rely heavy bred bulls who seem happy to just roll about in holds getting chewed up
It's down to the dog though, I've seen pure Bull at it's quarry for what seemed like an eternity because it didn't have the brains to go into the puddings. I've also seen a dynamite 3/4 greyhound finish the show in short order, I think it's more down to intelligence if the dog has enough grit. Some of the most devastating Bulldogs have been worked on vermin as young dogs, the great Bolio was a demon on pigs I read. Edited by DogFox123

I don't understand why people talk about what bulldog is added to greyhound all it is added for is more muscle mass and a stronger head I for one know for a fact a decent greyhound lacks nothing in the way of prey drive

Bit more to it than that!!

If what you say is true we could use a fat little staffy and get the same results as using a game bred tried and tested proper bull with great conformation, wind, athletic ability, complete lack of self preservation and most importantly of all the minerals.
