The previous owner might have had weights in those holes. It's the only reason I can think of.

 

As DJ says, try to knock him down a bit more

I agree, it is worth pushing him on price because he might think the stock appearance is cool but should you decide to sell it at some point, those holes/carving WILL knock the price down.

do the mags fit in those holes in cheek peice?

 

if they do you may aswell try and make it a better feature so that it looks the part

did the seller tell you how old it is

no john the mags dont fit in the holes , he was only a young lad like my self early twenteys.He said he bought it off his uncle thinking he would get use out of it, but never did.

the rifle its self is in good condition as far as i can see. Going to take it into the local gun shop to have a look over.

 

no there is no dust cap onit will have to have a look around for one
