Price Of Pups!!!

Recommended Posts

I think men are talking out of their arse if they try and deny that a bit of £££££ is tempting if you've bred the dog right.

If you could get £500 for a dog instead of £250 I know which one I'd choose, the price doesn't change the quality of the animal so you either buy one or you don't.

dog only worth how much someone is willing to pay !!! How do you judge one dog is worth £500 one is only worth £150 , what does a guy do with 12 pups he want £500 if no one buys them ??? Do we really want to end up we the whole lab doodle thing mongrels selling for crazy money . Only encourages the puppy peddlers, anyway if I want to pay greyhound prices I will buy one .

Yes and if you say they're worth £500 and folk buy them then good on you I say...

It's a feckin quandary...   Over the years I have charged strangers money for pups , most have then gone on to become good friends,...   By the same token,.I've sometimes gifted pups, to guys tha

I gifted my whole litter I know where they all are worth more to me than any amount of money

I've payed good money for pups and been gifted pups but if they are gifted I allways try to give a gift back bit of dog grub a good knife if the lads got children a couple of quid each for them maybe.

The bottom line is that of you breed the litter you can ask what you want for them ... if somebody wants to pay that money then they can ... if they don't want to they won't ... it's the same as any other transaction really .......

what do you do we litter of pups if they don't want to pay ???

That's down to the breeder isn't it ......

I agree moggy its either money or sentiment thats why a lot are bred when someone breeds for themselves or close mates even after the let downs which happens with most litters you still have homes if there from decent stuff and if folk were more honest with thereselves on whether a dog was worthy of breeding from there would be less shite about and most would buy a pup in from better stock

I am in total agreement if you have read my other posts about folk breeding for money . But sometimes you have more than you can gift etc to friends that are looking for pups , and sometime they need to charge money to weed out the arseholes . And while u might be able to put pups to sleep your self by what ever means you think is humane I couldn't do that and sure lot of lads the same !

it doesn't matter how pups are pts an same excuse about making money am not on about u but when u breed for own uses or mates if there no good they don't get pass on but when sell spare ones an they don't work out they get sold on that's why u shouldn't sell pups that's what I think

It all depends the bloodline you are getting, £400-£500 for a line bred dog that's been bred from the best of lines for generations is cheap, but to me the person selling them is just as important, one of the best dogs I ever had cost peanuts compared to her bloodline, but she came from a friend of a friend. The best ones are usually hard to come bye as most will be sold before being born.

You can pick up the CMW and visit sites like this and there will be a litter a month advertised that are bred from the country,s leading Coursing bloodlines, they seem to be easily available to anybody that wants to pay the original asking price. The folk that wait whilst many of these litters are advertised for the 3rd time pay a fraction of the original cost. The best litters of lurchers are more often bred from an unknown source and bloodline and cost a fraction of the price,if they are priced at all.Id be ashamed to breed a litter of pups with dollar in mind, many a so called elite litter is only bred for dollar,id be ashamed to charge a genuine hunting soul brass for a pup id be proud for them to own, others id want brass from.
