gamerooster 1,179
Just had a quick look online at whippets, seems you ain't getting one for less than 400 quid!!! Does no one else think this is madness? And lurcher pups for like 300 quid, I understand covering costs and such but surely this is just money making plain and simple? Quote Link to post

johnpee 214
There's always silly people willing to pay silly prices for dogs and as long as they are people selling them will ask silly money. Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
£900 for a x bred handbag dog £2 or 3 grand for bulldogs so what value on a working dog ? Some lads pay more than £3/400 for dogs with half a dozen breeds in them basically mongrels.so its the old you only get what some one is willing to pay. Quote Link to post

scottish lurcher 185
I have found that most of the big money lurcher are breed of non working dogs , and the folk selling them are in for the money. and while They prob do well we training try to find someone we dogs from proven working lines more likely to get steady type of dog as it bread for the job. I have breed some good dogs in the past and genuinely sold them cheap cos I knew they were going to right kinda of folk . Sure be some dog men on here able to help atb Quote Link to post

forest of dean redneck 11,561
Most the big price lurchers an whippets I noticed on pets4homes or gumtree there seem to be regular litters yearly or 6 monthly from same sort of areas or even phone numbers if you google it. 2 Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
I can't honestly decide what's right,I've given pups away and paid fair money. But a good lurcher is well worth the money paid by some for 'desiger dogs" putting a big price away won't keep know heads away , as plenty have money. But at the same time I'd hate the idea of them being disposable because they are worth pennies Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
I'm old, careful and not very affluent, so twentyfive quid is about right for any lurcher. And dont get me started on those feckin joke dogs, French Bulldogs, why the feck anyone would pay those prices to feed them disgraces i dont know..!! Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
I suppose the fact there's no money in them will keep some away, thankfully Quote Link to post
