Waz 4,265
Instead of trying to kill it just clean up the leaves and enjoy it and the wildlife it brings.

shepp 2,285
Is the shading that much of a problem, sometimes a bit of shade is handy mid summer. As for the leaves, I would suffer sweeping them up a couple of times in the autumn if the tree offered some habitat value. If it was a laylandi I would cut it down tomorrow. Greyman 28,628
if its not yours id just leave it alone ,not worth getting in to bother for mateeverything that comes over the boundary is yours including roots, my friend had a simular situation with a large tree on his neighbours side of the boundary, it was big,old and a danger to my mates property, but the guy next door would not let him touch it, so after digging a trench inside my mates fence all the roots were chopped off as we're all the branches that crossed the line, you have to offer them to the neighbor as they are his property, I don't think he wanted them judging by the language used, then during the next big storm it fell across the neighbours garden and not my mates house, job done all legal and above board
terryd 8,506
and if you saw off the tip of an over hanging branch with a ladder leaning against it. Be aware when the weight drops of the branch will will spring up and you look really stupid with your ladder leaning on nothing until you hit the dirt. So they tell me
AKA-BRINDLE 879
I planted trees at the back of mine when i moved in...cant believe how much they grow in 11yrs...they gives lots of cover privacy...i'd go proper mental if the neighbor killed them...go round and see them this winter and explain how you feel and offer to trim the tree back...compromise is always better than pissing your neighbours off...imo
