wolfy 79
On our shore comes an earth dog true and worthy , can track game for miles , wounded dear, wild boar , pheasant , underground it can tackle fox , coypu , anything it's coat is withstandable to all weathers hot, cold, it's manner pleasant with human respectable to other dogs ,loyal as a spaniel , as tractable as a collie , as game as a pit bull , I'm importing some total hunting lines but are gonna cost some real knowledgeable terrier boys some real dough? What would you pay for this animal that's had a hundred years of varied breeding of men and women who wanted to do everything from shoot over tofox to ask him to go to ground to sort a bad fox , there's only one problem that might bugger the only Import of this super animal to our shores for the big dollar ... we have an animal such as the Russel, Lakeland , patterdale,, border? Which has been specifically bred for longer than the jaggt by more dedicated , loyal , professionals . The dogs here p on them xxxxx things so don't waste your time. Time, time . Never mind your hard earned cash . Unless your mad of course. 1 Quote Link to post

Some Collies need good handling or they'll end up handling you. Can track game for miles ? The best Foxhounds can't hunt if there's no scent but if there is scent most breeds can be trained to hunt a blood trail. So if the Jaggt is indeed the Holy Grail of working dogs how come the few I know of ,all with different owners, all from working lines, ended up in the same place. The dog shelter. 1 Quote Link to post

MIK 4,756
Can't see them becoming decent dogs on these shores anyway ....too much money involved in this breed ....spoke to some lads earlier in the year I was micro chipping their terriers as they couldn't take them to the vet ....I had actually given one of the lads pick of the litter out of an old terrier of mine and they said to bring a terrier and we could check some spots ...I was more interested in see the youngster out of mine grafting ...done all their dogs then started having the craic one of the lads said he had just got a jagd bitch pup he paid £800 ..as a digging dog...I said what happened if it turned out not to make the grade what would you do it's a lot money wasted ...he said he knows a lad down south that has a dog and would have pups of it at that price ...then he started on about Lucius terriers ...that was enough for me ...lets just say the spades never came out of the truck and I headed home 4 Quote Link to post
Mary 352
No such thing as an 'all in one', simply don't exist. Typical German supremacism, always trying, but never succeeding. 1 Quote Link to post

Or looks something to stand out from the rest so the persons can say that themselves are great ! . there's definitely better dogs out there and as good to hunt . the tracking shot stuff bit , I'm sure the be other breeds as handy Quote Link to post
Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Why fix something that isn't broken? I'd rather have a dog for a job than a 'jack of all trades, master of none' type. I'll stick with my black dogs. 6 Quote Link to post

I'd say there is- but they were freak/accidents-no breed can be good at everything ,average at some of them maybe Quote Link to post
