Not hunting exactly but I wish I'd started fishing earlier. I've been to Hawaii twice and I caught a shark and a couple of species of wrasse with the crews help but I didn't know how to actually set up rigs etc. I now enjoy catching different and new species of fish using all kinds of tactics and tackle so I have a massive regret that I've twice been to somewhere that I know I could now catch a lot of species, some endemic.

I went when you got two Dollars for a Pound and prices over there were much cheaper than they are now. Those two fortnight holidays cost £4000 a time and would cost nearly twice that now so I doubt I'll ever get to go back.

Like I say its a massive regret that I didn't do more fishing out there.

To get into fox hunting when I was younger! Went through it all, always had a shotgun in my teens, pigeon shooting, inland duck shooting, rabbiting with gun and ferrets. Had many springer spaniels, terriers and lurchers but once I was introduced to foxhounds it really opened my eyes. I still do terrierwork but the music of a pack of foxhounds in full cry is my piece of heaven. Oh to be younger eh!! lol

Yeah not taking up fishing earlier is a regret in itself, I actually prefer fishing to hunting but for some reason I don't go between September and April. It's strange really when I was a kid my Dad would be catching conger, wrasse etc on Scottish holidays and I had no interest, my Uncle even owned a Charter boat out of Hartlepool and went to Whithorn after Tope every year.

Hawaii did get me interested in fishing so it served some purpose lol.

wish I was in to the hunting before the ban, I feel like ive missed so much. just born to late really.

yeah was so much diffrent in the 1950 when I started go out with my dad , use to sit on handlebars of old butchers bike while dad peddled , dog Trotted along side . Think it was five miles there and five back dog still had to catch hares . We got the hare or rabbit the dog got saps , if we didn't get enough .
