One of the best would be Anschütz 1417

Honestly, the best buy for a 22lr is a good used one.   Everything has chance to bed in & smooth out so the trigger will be nicer, bolt throw slicker and someone else will have paid for trigger

Its the old story ..... What's The Best To Buy ..... what's your definition of best?

In simple terms you will not hear many complaints about most .22LR, but CZ seem to have it pretty much nailed!

I have no issues with them, mine are working tools and have never let me down.

Last is a Magtech Semi (it comes out now and again).

452, finfire, savage mk2, quad, or an old brno are all well worth picking up if the price is right.

They won't get shot out or damaged through use (only mistreatment) and should never need repairing (maybe just a bolt service kit or new extractor claw after many thousand rounds) so why pay extra for a new one that won't feel as nice as one someone has run in for you.

I bought a Magtech .22 semi auto as a cheap starter rimfire and have not felt the need to trade up. My CZ 452 HMR is super accurate and have considered swapping the Magtech for a CZ 512, as I prefer the follow on shot option of a semi auto, but the Magtech is still paying for itself knocking over bunnies many years on, so why change?
