danny bull 4
I'm looking to purchase a new 22 rifle and would like to know what's the best on the market for rabbit shooting and the odd fox Quote Link to post
jacknife 2,005
Don't think there is a best Most common probably the CZ Quote Link to post
Elliott 436
I've shot rabbits out to 187 yards with my 22 CZ. Great rifle and regularly groups well under 1" at 100 yards using Eley Subs. Sacked off the HMR once I'd bought it Quote Link to post
hunter1 63
Cz very accurate work horse. Quote Link to post
David Aiken 253
One of the best would be Anschütz 1417 4 Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
CZ 452/455 Quote Link to post
The one 8,475
Mines a lakefield £75 brand new shot plenty with it Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
CZ 452/455  2 of my club members have .22 BRNO, and we were playing at 100 yards last Sunday, these are simply field guns but they were still doing the business. Its the old story ..... What's The Best To Buy ..... what's your definition of best? In simple terms you will not hear many complaints about most .22LR, but CZ seem to have it pretty much nailed! I have no issues with them, mine are working tools and have never let me down. Last is a Magtech Semi (it comes out now and again). 1 Quote Link to post
Metalman2 45
CZ have a three year warranty if bought new Quote Link to post
Rowan 308
CZ 452 synthetic stock 16" barrel .... 1 Quote Link to post
Migmac 1
Would agree that the CZ rifles are good, mine is a Brno version. Bought it in 1982, no idea how many shots it has fired in that time but it must be many thousands. Still groups an inch of so at a hundred yards. Not ammo fussy. Quote Link to post
smiffie23 67
I really happy with my cz 455. Quote Link to post
Jax13 251
Honestly, the best buy for a 22lr is a good used one. Everything has chance to bed in & smooth out so the trigger will be nicer, bolt throw slicker and someone else will have paid for trigger kits, barrel chips and retreading. 452, finfire, savage mk2, quad, or an old brno are all well worth picking up if the price is right. They won't get shot out or damaged through use (only mistreatment) and should never need repairing (maybe just a bolt service kit or new extractor claw after many thousand rounds) so why pay extra for a new one that won't feel as nice as one someone has run in for you. MIK 4,756
I've got the savage ..good work horse you would not believe the amount of stuff I have shot with it Quote Link to post
kenj 131
I bought a Magtech .22 semi auto as a cheap starter rimfire and have not felt the need to trade up. My CZ 452 HMR is super accurate and have considered swapping the Magtech for a CZ 512, as I prefer the follow on shot option of a semi auto, but the Magtech is still paying for itself knocking over bunnies many years on, so why change?
