Haiddheliwr 1,911
On a farm this week and heard from the neighbouring farm that they had seen a fox on the morning I was there with no BRUSH!! I know we have had colour differences but wondered if anyone has seen this before. I have permission on this farm so hoping to get a photo if I am lucky! Quote Link to post
Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Ive dug a couple with no brushes. Ive also bolted one with no brush and when the dog appeared behind it the brush was in his mouth. Which is how I think they lose them. 2 Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
Seen a few bob tailed foxes over the years. I often wondered what caused them, such as accidents but you hear old Huntsmen talk of them as if they're born like that. But, I've never seen a bob tailed cub ? Quote Link to post

socks 32,253
The old bitch of mine caught one by its arse as it going under a fence years ago ... the fox got away but she got its tail so that would have been one running around with no brush ... I never seen it again though ........ Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
I shot one a while back that had a tail, but no meat or fur on it. It was just like a whippy aerial made of bone. Quote Link to post
Haiddheliwr 1,911
That would be brilliant if you could get a pic! I did think myself Neil were they born with a deformity! lol dug to quite a few myself with the brush or part missing! Quote Link to post
Haiddheliwr 1,911
I have seen them Walshie I always assumed it was a severe case of mange! 2 Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
I have seen them Walshie I always assumed it was a severe case of mange! The one I saw was perfectly normal except for the tail. I reckon maybe a dog had got it's tail and gloved it, or it got caught in a trap. Quote Link to post
Haiddheliwr 1,911
lol whippy aerial made of bone priceless that! Does make you think how it happens, i feel a bit of a t**t if I come across it , knowing it has had part or its whole life without a brush and I got to end it! Quote Link to post
