ruby 7
Recently seen vets stapling equipment advertised in a magazine for small wounds, just wondered if anyone had used them, what they thought of them etc.I prefer a wound slightly open to allow it to drain. Guest reload
Seen them used to great effect You leave a drain or part open in some cases. They are good for tears etc...... If you use one it is best to get someone to show you how to do it .......
Guest Corkonian
I've used them but not with much success Never managed to get them to stick in properly - as reload says get someone to show you how to use them first - try it on a dead rabbit or somthing I use vet bond (super glue type stuff) instead for small rips - works very well on areas that aren't likely to have much pressure put on them - again as said already you should not seal the rip completely. F.R. 2
They work well, but yes, practice first. Also don't forget the special staple removers you need as well........

FATNECK 0
Mate of mine picked 1 up from the states a couple years back, bout 2 years ago we got a chance to use it when my dog decided to sprint over a piece of glass stickin up out of the ground, leaving him with a 2" gapin gash up the back of his front leg, just above pad. Gettin the staples in was quite easy, the hard part was removin them, even with the proper gear!! (that was to do with their location). Wound healed excellent, cant even see the scar now I would definately recomend usin them
kiwi 4
use them myself, great little tools that save heaps on the vet bills, i do however leave wounds open to heal so long as the weathers not too warm and the dog is able to keep it clean. a few staples just help it mend a bit faster.
