mark williams 7,550
I`ve been offered this old classic for £295 apparently in perfect working order, original open sights, just a slight scuff to the stock. Does the price sound ok to those who know these old 1980 classics ? I want to hunt classic as well as modern. atb. Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Hi Mark. It's a decent price but, really, you are getting a genuine classic from a very prestige German air rifle maker. I had one in .22 when it was first launched and I wish I still had it now. If classical hunting is what you are after, you won't be badly off with this one! And a slight scuff on the stock isn't a bad bill of health for a rifle of this vintage and quality. I'm pretty sure it'll clean up and tune up into a real gem of an air rifle. All the best for it. mark williams 7,550
I`ve turned him down Simon. I said I couldn`t live with a dinged stock, at £295 + £ 10 delivery, £305 for a rifle nearly 40 yrs old and needing a stock repair, " no". I`ll carry on shopping. The dinge photos - you haven`t seen, put me right off mate, I offered £250 cash and he turned it down,- so I`ll carry on looking. atb Quote Link to post

philpot 4,967
I always wanted one of these when they first came out but never did get one, can't remember why, perhaps the price at that time or availability as there was no internet so it was a case of seeing them in 'Shooting Times' but not in a local shop, how things have changed. Look forward to seeing what you finish up with mark. Phil Quote Link to post
tomburras 2,729
Properly built gun had one briefly and reminded me of the very early hw80 mk1 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,550
I`ve agreed to buy it lads, it`s mine on Tuesday 11am all being well. I`ve had this rifle three times over and now " finally" the 4th. I`ve shot the mk 1 constantly over the last 40 years "ish" and I part chopped my last one for the HW 100 kt .177 - of which I am now glad as the incoming rifle has original front and rear sights, which is rare. I took some large bags with the FWB Sport 127 mk1 and know it very, very well. I remember shooting over Hawthorns Farm, plagued by hares, the FWB hammered that population in the very eary `s with ease. Looking back over Mac`s great work, he`ll show this stock for how it should look,- it`s nowhere near the dinge I first thought. Roll on Tuesday 1 Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,550
Tuesday mate but he is also bringing a HW 35 Export ( 22 inch barrel) .177 cal, with a walnut jacket on . I`ve put some questions on the forum over the HW 35 Export as I am not aware of it`s qualities but have heard of them. I can`t seem to find the muzzle energy of the old 35 Export in .177 cal - " Anyone, please" ??? atb Quote Link to post
