Caravan Monster 323
I've started my 14 month old lurcher on Akela Original 80/20 as a supplement to raw. Looks to be well on it, although I have noticed she has started to puke up bile a little more often than normal. The portion sizes are surprisingly small eg a 25kg dog is around one and a half coffee mug / day if fed purely on Akela. Don't think I'll stop feeding raw, but the grain free seems to be ok for supplement or variety. The dog goes crazy for the stuff.
dodger 2,765
Sounds decent grub that Akela then, I'm with you in that you can't beat a good raw diet but think topped up with a small amount of the right biscuit adds that bit extra..
low plains drifter 10,744
Very heavy price on some of these dry foods, been using CSJ CP 30 for a few weeks now and dogs look well, cheap compared to some at 34 sheets for 15 kg bag, how much do they bend you over for the TOTW and Akela ? dodger 2,765
That totw was 40 odd for 13 kg driffter but just used as a top up seems to last ages even with a few dogs but Iv given it them it on its own a couple times n must admit although not as bad some completes there's still a fair bit more wast from it than with a home made diet mate.. thefensarefarbutistillgo 2,529
Millie's ultima a good one for working dogs, it's high in fat and will have your dogs coat gleaming within days, they have now brought out one called peak performance which is 30% fat which would be good for hard working dogs but not tried that one yet as my dog only a part timer nowadays
