I worship the ground this old fart walks on, never told a lie and a pleasure to keep and work. Eleven years old on this dig last year, she's still fit and well and as long as she's willing she'll be

Top class, different people have different standards of class.   Had some great digs/times with this bitch.

Put them in ,drop one hole, dig them out, that's all I ask of them-im yet to have one that didn't have some sort of fault-punchy with other dogs or shitting in water bowl etc lol.I can get a few digs in

The best terrier i have will do it and i know when hes doing it i can tell the difference it happened once in new company

Put the dog in rabbit bolted followed by the dog there was a few chuckles and a bit of banter

The dog entered the same hole and we got to him 4hours after job done

Everyone except me had forgot the rabbit

And i think if anyone tells you they have never had a dog do it they are either fibbing or not done much.

Never bolted or dug a rabbit but bolted a mouse once!

I hope it was humanely dispatched

how deep I agree to a certain extent which is you drop them you should dig them out nose to nose with there fox but surely every terrier that's supposed to be working should do this everytime if its classed as a worker?

but you hear folk on here saying there terrier runs big dead places to reassure them or some have even dug good terriers to a rabbit 1 time...Top class terriers don't do these things..had a bitch named lucy 92 around this time we were doing a lot of terrier work at least 4 times a week she really opened my eyes to what and how top class terriers worked...only a small bitch but very strong we dug 6 singles in a day with her twice and a 5 in a day another time with her.. she never needed a lead anywhere fields or main busy roads she just dandered by your side...another bitch about 4 years later named sounder ( not mine) she was also dug 5 times in a day a few times... and I dig over a bitch at the minute and shes also shaping up to make quite a career for herself..just hope now she can pass that gene on for soon as she breaks down shes getting lined shes 4 and a half... also have dug over a dog called trigger quite a few times and he also impressesed me...these bitches & dogs set the standard for me.

We maybe on different view on this but what I was trying to get across is that if your terrier is there at the end of a dig each time you enter him/her all through there working life what could that terrier lack to call another terrier superior. I'm speaking about digging terriers alone not all rounders. Bushing, ratting, if you get what I'm saying stopend.

I suppose we all see a standard or a certain way we like our terriers to work . And should aim for all our workers to deliver that, or atleast only keep the few that do so, they would all be closly matched when it comes to work and if you have that ur going well imo. So for one to stand out to me would mean my other terriers are lacking.
