johnrussell84 2,832
I'd like to share alitttle story with you all regarding the above named bitch. Before I got her I had alittle mixed x called Cher great bitch worked cover like a terrier an in a final third would bust her gut. Bomb proof round stock, lamp off the lead and really set a bar for any dog around her to try and reach. She was around 8 when i said maybe time for another my mum had just passed away and thought take my mind off things didn't know what i wanted or where to start looking, when a boy I know rang me an said I've just picked up a pup but tbh she's more ur type of dog than mine. I stopped by an something drew her to me an the following day he let me buy her. Anyways indi started young showing all the right signs working hard and her catch rate for a young dog was that off a seasoned dog. She came on leaps and bounds an an hunted with purpose and brains and took from some land where she had no right but she did regular. I rated this bitch am my pride an joy. One evening walking with my oldest I let her off on a quiet back road to run the field next to me just the rabbits not a big field could throw a stone so all was within control until a drunk driver swung the corner I shouted indi N put my kid against the fence but indi came thru an was ran over. Now from that day I took responsibility my fault she came back but never the same bitch however she was mine and still my pride followed by guilt and gret. Today I laid indi to rest only 6yrs old due to a bad heart caused by one silly stupid mistake I thought to be harmless. An I'm writing this filled with guilt and feel I have done her a great injustice letting her off that day. My words to you guys is be safe don't take chances an when u have a good un don't take it for granted as not only does my kennel look empty she has stole a huge piece of my heart with her. Atb with your seasons guys as mine will be trying to restore a loss that will take some filling 8 Quote Link to post

Bull lurcher babe 35
Condolences, totally know where you're coming from, i lost a bitch i loved dearly a few years back. I got her in similar circumstances that you got Indie as well, my mum had just died and l'd just left the Army and she helped me through some rough stuff, my girl got injured and had to be pts, felt like my world had fell apart. For what it's worth you clearly weren't to blame for what happened to your dog, only the drunk idiot who injured her is to blame for that. RIP Indie Quote Link to post
